If you do not find a suitable wall type in the available lists, you can create your own. There is a section in the dialog box dedicated to user defined walls.

Step 1: Open the Smart Architect Select Wall Types dialog box.

Step 2: Select the Timber 1 wall from the New Wall options. You will use this as a template.

Step 3: Click on the Config button to open the Smart Architect Wall Configuration dialog box.

Note:
This dialog box is not looked at in depth, but can be used to alter the settings of any wall in the system, including walls created by the user. Once you have created your own wall, this dialog box will be self-explanatory. (Remember to hit the Update button if you want to save your changes).

Step 4: Click on the Add Wall button to access the Smart Architect New Wall Type dialog box.

Step 5: Make the following changes to the dialog box settings.
You are going to create a 75mm [ 3" ] Hebel block wall.

Type the
Hebel Block 75 [ 3" ] in the Name text field.

Select
User under Wall Types.

In the
First Wall, set the Width to 75 [ 3" ]; change the Code to HBW; change the Cost to $35 and set the Material to Concrete.

Use the
First Layer button to set up the layer, color and line type of the first face of the wall. In the dialog box provided, click on the Layer button and create a new layer name of Hebel. Set the color to Red and the line type to Continuous.

Use the
Second Layer button to set up the layer, color and line type of the second face of the wall. In the dialog box provided, click on the Layer button and create a new layer name of Hebel. Set the color to Red and the line type to Continuous.

Note:
If a cavity wall is being created, the information is to be filled out under Second Wall. A width will need to set for the cavity and a different material can be used.

Step 6: Click on the Save button. The new wall will appear in the list of walls in the Smart Architect Wall Configuration dialog box. Hit OK in this dialog box and OK in the next and your new wall is ready for you to use. This wall will be available for use in future sessions of Smart Architect.
